Using the Request Types module 

To add the Request The Request Types module to a portal, site or category homepage:

  1. Click the pen icon to edit the layout. 

  2. Click to add a module and choose Request Types. 

  3. Configure the module to your liking and save. 

  4. Save the layout.

Parameter

Description

Title

The module’s title. If left empty, the title is Request Types.

Portal ID

If left empty, the portal you are on will be used.

You can also manually set it using the ID of your service desk (found in the URL of that service desk)

Display

  • All (Default)

  • Selected Groups

  • Selected Request types

This will show
  • shows all available request types from the portal or service desk specified in the Portal ID parameter.

"Selected Request Types" allows you to select which request types you would like to display in the module.

"Selected groups" allows you to select which request type groups you would like to include in the module.

The IDs of the request types and request types groups are entered as a comma separated string and
  • Selected groups lets you choose which request type groups the module shows.

  • Selected Request Types lets you choose which request types the module shows.

You can include IDs from multiple groups or projects . See Finding group & request type IDs on how to find these. Show Service Project Nameby separating them with a comma.

Show service project name

Available when you choose “Selected Request Types” or “Selected groups”Depending on your setup you might want Selected request types or Selected groups in the Display parameter.

Select to show the service project name together with the groups. If so, check the "Show Service Project Name" option.

Available when you choose “Selected Request Types”If you choose "Selected request types " you can choose "Hide groups", which will in the Display parameter.

Select to display all request types together and disregard the settings made in "the Display option" parameter.

Choose the layout of the request type cards:

  • Vertical

  • Horizontal

  • Icon

Display option

Choose how the request type card will display.Display optiongroups are displayed:

  • As Tabs (Default)

  • As Dropdown

  • As Sidebar

  • By Group

Select how the request type groups will be displayed.

When choosing Display: Selected Request Types and Hide Groups in the previous options, this setting will be disabled.

Item size

  • Small

  • Medium (Default)

  • Large

Size of your Request Type cards.

Display description

  • Always (Default)

  • Tooltip

Choose if the request type description should be visible always, or visible as a tooltip.

This parameter is disabled if you have the following settings:

  • Display parameter: Selected request types

  • Hide groups: selected

Item size

Choose the size of the request type cards:

  • Small

  • Medium

  • Large

Display description

Choose how the request type description is visible:

  • Always

  • Tooltip (visible when users hover their mouse over the request type)

Group and request type IDs

To find group IDs and request type IDs:

  • Go to the Project settings via the project Agent view

  • For any selected current group, you can find the group ID in the URL

  • Click Edit fields for individual request types to see the ID of these. The URL will now be on the format:
