Use Promoted Search Results to improve your users' search experience. It lets you decide which pages are suggested to users when they search for specific key terms. This reduces the amount of time users have to spend looking through documentation, for example.

Enable Promoted Search Results

Promoted Search Results are enabled when the Search Highlight Module exists on a site home, category home or customer portal. This module exists is placed on these pages by default, but can be manually removed.

Create and manage Promoted Search Results

Project administrators and project agents

Project administrators and project agents can add Promoted Search Results to JSM portals. Go

  1. Go to the project

  2. In the left-hand menu, go to Refined customer portal > Promoted Search Results.

  3. Click + Create link.
    Or click a Cogwheel to edit or delete a link.

Jira administrators and Refined administrators

Jira administrators and Refined administrators can add other Promoted Search Results to JSM portals, categories and entire Refined sites. Go to a Site or category > Cogwheel in top right corner > Promoted Search Results. Alternatively, go to the Refined Administration > the Promoted Search Results tab.Here you also see overview of links that are currently active on your site, and some statistics for their use:

  1. Go to the Refined Administration.

  2. Head to the Promoted Search Results tab.

  3. Click + Create link.

Promoted Search Results overview

The overview of currently active Promoted Search Results includes:

  • Title

  • Creation date

  • Location

  • Link statistics. We keep track of how often each link is clicked and when it was clicked last. This helps you identify what your users are looking for, so you can delete the links that no longer serve their purpose.

  • Match words

Title

The link’s title that the user who is searching will see.

Location
Only available in Refined Administration

Select Global or type a specific location.

URL

Enter an internal or external the URL that the user will should be directed to.

Open in new window

Select to let the link open in a new browser window.

Match word

The link is suggested when a user searches for these key terms.
To add multiple match words, separate them with a comma.
