In version 7.0 we rebuilt the Refined Administration and where it was previously only Confluence Administrators that could access the Refined Administration, you can now delegate admin permissions to other users.
Who can access Refined Administration?
With Refined, users can be promoted to manage Refined Administration on different levels.
- All Refined settings: any user that is a Confluence Administrator.
- All Refined settings: anyone added as Refined Administrator.
- Refined Site settings: anyone added as Site Administrator
Overview
In Refined Administration > Permissions you will get an overview of current access to different Refined Administration and Sites.

A Refined Administrator is a user that can access and edit all Refined Administrator settings. This includes:

Users with administrative rights can edit settings in the Refined Administration. There are three types of Administrators:
A user who is a Confluence Administrator can edit all Refined settings.
A user who is manually added as Refined Administrator can edit all Refined settings.
A user who is manually added as Site Administrator can edit site-specific settings.
It can be beneficial to delegate administrator permissions to colleagues, for example when you work with teams who all have different specialisations:
A support team member can be added as a Site Administrator to take care of your support site
A development team member can be added as a Site Administrator to add helpful content on your intranet.
A designer can be added as Refined Administrator to help out with the look and feel of several sites.
