This guide shows you how execute a full migration from Server to Data Center. If you only want to transfer Refined settings and configurations from test to production, read these best practices.

Data from Refined for Confluence/Jira is stored in the same database as Confluence/Jira. In addition to this we are also storing some also store a number of files in a folder inside the Confluence/Jira home folder.

Missing images or themes

If you are facing an issue that images or themes are not displayed when you have migrated to Data Center, it is likely caused by Refined’s data folder. You need to manually copy this folder from the original server to the destination server (see path above)don’t manually copy Refined’s data folder after migration (see step 2 in the migration guide), you will not see images or themes. If you have done completed this step but the images are still not displayed, please check the permissions of the Refined data folder. The folder should be owned by the same user who owns the Confluence or Jira home folder.

Please note:

  1. Changing context path might result in undisplayed images in themes and layouts.

  2. Links with absolute URLs will still point to the old instance. This is why we recommend using relative links. Read about relative links in the Refined for Confluence Server/DC documentation and the Refined for Jira Service Management Server/DC documentation.
