Users can search the contents of your site in multiple ways:
The Search Highlight module shows results based on its location.
If the module is placed on a parent page in the Site Builder hierarchy, it gives search results from any child content or item.
If the module is placed on a Refined Page that is connected to a Jira Software project or Confluence space, it also gives results from these projects or spaces.
If the module is placed on a page that doesn’t have a Confluence space, Jira Software project or JSM project associated with it, the module shows search results from your entire site.
Users access the global search by clicking the magnifying glass at the top-right corner of your site. The search results cover content from your entire site.
The sidebar search is located in the left-hand menu of a page that is created from a Confluence space. It only gives results from within this Confluence space.
If your site features a knowledge base, users who create a request will see suggested knowledge base articles based on their keywords when filling in the summary field.
