Use steps to make instructions clear and organized. The look of the macro may differ depending on your Confluence editor’s version. The macro setup works the same.

Step macro

Add steps to a page

  1. Hit the / key or click the + in the editor toolbar.

  2. Find and select the Refined Step Container macro.

  3. Place a Refined Step macros inside the container, and add content under it. Repeat this step to create multiple steps.

Although all steps are numbered 1 in the Confluence editor, they are numbered correctly on the published page.

In general, we don’t support adding third party macros within the UI Step(s) macros. One exception is the EazyBI macro: see which settings are needed to achieve this.

Limitations

Due to Atlassian limitations, smart links within steps are shown as the full URL on the published page. We suggest adding links to text instead.
