A user dashboard includes a user’s details, activities, and personal network. The user dashboard is connected to the default Confluence user settings.

Since Refined for Confluence version 6.0, user dashboards are optional and switched off by default. To update user dashboard settings:

  1. Go to the Refined Administration.

  2. Go to the Configuration tab > the User section.

Here you can:

  • Activate user dashboards.

  • Allow users to customise their own dashboards (only possible when Refined is set as the global theme).

  • Allow anonymous users to view attachments on user dashboards.

Global and customised user dashboards

Administrators can create a global user dashboard, which applies to all user dashboards except the ones that users have customised themselves.

To edit the global user dashboard and to see which users have custom user dashboards:

  1. Go to the Refined Administration.

  2. Go to the Layout tab > User dashboard.

If custom user dashboards are allowed, users can update their dashboards by:

  1. Going to User menu (username) > User dashboard.

  2. Clicking the Edit user dashboard button.

Make content dynamic

Use macros to edit a dashboard. You can use the text variable @username in a macro’s user name field, which is replaced with the user’s name when they view their user dashboard.
