To create tickets (requests or issues) on a Refined site, users have to log in with an Atlassian account. They can manually log out later, or it will happen automatically after inactivity or deleting cookies.

After logging out from the Refined site, users are still logged in to Atlassian. For organisations in which multiple employees use the same laptop, tablet, or other device, this may pose complications. That’s why Refined offers ways to instruct users to log out of their Atlassian accounts.

Manual logout

Users can log out from your Refined site through the avatar menu, located in the top-right corner. If you want to emphasise to users that they also need to log out of Atlassian, enable the Atlassian logout prompt. The prompt looks different depending on the type of user:

Enable the Atlassian logout prompt

  1. Go to the Refined Administration.

  2. Click Sites in the left-hand menu.

  3. Pick the site you want to work with.

  4. Go to the Configuration tab.

  5. Scroll down to the Security heading > toggle on Log out from Atlassian prompt.

Automatic logout

Users are automatically logged out after seven days of inactivity on your site, or when they delete their browser’s cookies. When revisiting the site, users are asked if they want to continue with the login they used last. Alternatively, they can click a button to log in to another account on Atlassian’s site.

This is default Refined site behaviour and can’t be turned off.
