This guide shows you how to transfer Refined settings and configurations. If you’re looking for a guide for full migration from Server to Data Center, click here.
Because of the way that Jira is built and how databases index its content, you’ll need to complete some manual steps to transfer Refined’s settings and configurations. We advise using two browser windows side by side: one with the test/staging environment and one with the production environment.
Refined Administration settings
For each tab in the Refined Administration, manually copy the settings from your test or staging environment to your production environment.
Themes
Go to your test or staging environment and export all active themes. Import the themes in your production environment. How to export/import themes.
Site Builder
In both the test/staging environment and the production environment, head to the Refined Administration > the Site Builder tab.
Create new sites in the production environment to match the test/staging environment.
Manually recreate all settings of each site: click each site’s Cogwheel > Edit site to see the settings. You might need to expand certain items to see all settings. Note that the additional sites to the global one will inherit the settings of the global one, unless changes have been specifically made to the site. The global site gets its settings from the main configuration in Refined.
Add and set up the categories and links for each site in the production environment.
Layouts
Go to your test or staging sites and export all layouts. Import the layouts in your production environment. How to export/import layouts.
Footer
Manually recreate the footer in the production environment.
