In version 7.0 we rebuilt the Refined Administration and where it was previously only Confluence Administrators that could access the Refined Administration, you can now delegate admin permissions to other users.
Refined administrators
A Refined Administrator is a user that can access and edit all Refined Administrator settings. This includes:
configure Refined
creating and managing Refined Sites
creating and managing Themes
adding other users as Refined or Site Administrators
editing all layouts
and more - everything that is a Refined Administration setting.
To make a user a Refined administrator:
Log in as a Refined Administrator or a Confluence Administrator.
Go to Refined Administration > Permissions
Type to search for a user or a user-group, then add the correct one to the setting.
Site administrators
A Site Administrator is a user that can edit settings related to one or several Refined Sites. This includes
editing layout for the site and any category and spaces(that the user can view) in the Refined Site
editing any setting for the site including theme, navigation, permission, start site setting and more
add Confluence spaces that are not added to a different site
To make a user a site administrator:
Log in as a Refined Administrator or a Confluence Administrator.
Go to Refined Administration > Site Builder
Edit the Site you want to add a user to, then locate Permissions.
Type to search for a user or a user-group, then add the correct one to the setting.
Who can access Refined Administration?
With Refined, users can be promoted to manage Refined Administration on different levels.
All Refined settings: any user that is a Confluence Administrator.
All Refined settings: anyone added as Refined Administrator.
Refined Site settings: anyone added as Site Administrator
In Refined Administration > Permissions you will get an overview of current access to different Refined Administration and Sites.
