This module is only available if you have installed Refined for Confluence Cloud.
The News module displays blog posts from a Confluence space as thumbnails in chronological order. For example, you can use this module on a help desk site to show a product’s latest features, as we have done on help.refined.com’s Refined for Cloud landing page.
Add this module to a page layout
All Refined Pages, Jira Projects, and Confluence Spaces that you add in the Site Builder get their own landing page on your Refined site. Modules are the building blocks of these pages.
Go to a page’s Layout Editor.
Hover your mouse over a spot in the layout and click the + Add module button that appears.
Edit settings
Select the module to see its menu, which appears on its right-hand side.

Filter |
|
Filter by label |
from legacy page: Show only blogposts that have a specific label in Confluence, or exclude specific blogposts by adding a dash (-) in front of the label. |
Filter by space |
from legacy page: When placed on a page on your Refined site that is created from a Confluence Space, the News module shows pages from that space. If you’d like to show content from another space instead, set up dynamic content with Text Variables. You can include several spaces by separating space keys with commas. To exclude results from a space, prepend the space key with a dash (-). |
Filter by author |
from legacy page: Only show content from one or more authors, by adding their Account ID(s). A user’s ID can be found in the URL of their Atlassian profile. For example, in a URL ending with wiki/people/62f636d425abc07e51c8b330, the bold string of letters and numbers is the user’s ID. Separate multiple IDs with commas. TIP: Make this content dynamic by using Text Variables. |
Filter with CQL |
from legacy page: The advanced filter lets you use CQL to show specific blogposts. For example, show blog posts that the user added: type = blogpost AND creator = $username ORDER BY created DESC |
Images
If the display mode includes images, they are displayed in 4:3 portrait (vertical) format.
The module automatically shows the first image located in each blogpost. If that image has a different ratio than 4:3, the module will crop it. We recommend using images that are at least 800x600 pixels.
If you want to use a different image, add metadata to the blogpost.
Description
If the display mode includes a description, the module automatically shows the blogpost’s first 250 characters. If you want to set a custom description, add metadata to the blogpost.
