A theme determines the look of your site. Choose a pre-set theme, or apply your organisation’s branding by building your own custom theme.
You can apply different themes to each of your sites. This way, a knowledge base and an intranet can have different looks. You can also create themes for special occasions, like a holiday theme that you temporarily add to your intranet.
See an overview of your themes
Go to the Refined Administration.
Click Themes in the left-hand menu.
To make sure the thumbnails are displayed correctly, we recommend working in Chrome or Firefox.
Create a new theme
In the theme overview, click on the Create a Theme button at the bottom of the page. This gives you a blank canvas in the Theme Editor.
You can also create a new theme based on an existing theme, by copying it and editing the copy.
Edit a theme
In the theme overview, click on the theme’s Cogwheel > Edit. You can now edit the theme in the Theme Editor.
You can also go to the Theme Editor directly from your Refined site: the top-right corner, click the Cogwheel > Edit current theme. Alternatively, use the keyboard shortcut Shift + E
.
Export/import a theme
You can export a theme and import it into another Refined instance (or your current Refined instance).
To export a theme, go to the theme overview, and click the theme’s Cogwheel > Export.
To import a theme, and click the Import Theme button at the bottom of the page.
Apply a theme
When you create a site, it automatically has the Radiant theme — one of our pre-set themes. Although we like the look of our themes, we encourage you to apply your own branding to your sites.
The Site Theme applies to all pages on your Refined site, unless you specify otherwise. If you want a page on your Refined site to have a different theme, apply another theme to that page’s Site Builder.
Apply a theme to a site
Go to the Site Builder.
Click on the name of your current theme, located in the block with your site’s name in it.
Select a theme.
Apply a theme to a specific content item
In the Site Builder, click on the content item’s Cogwheel > Edit.
Click on the theme name.
Click on the Change Theme button.
