Pages

Each site, (sub)category, Jira project and JSM portal has its own home page. Think of them as landing pages that you can customise to help users find their way. You can edit the content and structure of these pages in the Layout Editor.

Add content by using modules

Use modules to:

  • Create navigation.

  • Show content from Atlassian Cloud.

  • Add information.

+ Add Module buttons are located in different locations in the Layout Editor – click them to add modules where you see fit in your design. To speed up the page creation, you can duplicate modules. Go to the top-right corner of a module and click the Duplicate icon.

In some modules it’s possible to use text variables to make their content dynamic.

Structure your page using sections

Sections act as containers for modules and help you organise your page. Hover above or below an existing section, and add a new section by clicking the + button.

Arrange sections
Drag and drop sections to rearrange them, using the handle on the left. You can also click buttons above and below the handle to move sections up and down.

Divide a section into columns
Within a section, you can cluster modules into columns. Click the + Add Column button located in the top-right corner of the section. To change the width of a column, click and drag the column’s border.

Section settings
Adjust the following settings by clicking on the section’s Pencil icon:

  • Titles. Add a title and secondary title, which will show at the top of the section. You can set the alignment of the title in the page’s theme.

  • Background. Set the background to either default (following the page’s theme) or transparent (shown on top of the theme background).

  • View Permissions. Decide who is able to view this section.

View permissions on sections

Refined only shows portals that the users have access to based on their Atlassian account’s permissions. It is also possible to manually set view permissions on layout sections, to show only relevant content to specific users. For example, you can use this feature to show knowledge base articles to HR customer portal users and hide it for IT users.

Set view permissions

  1. In the Layout Editor, click a section’s lock button (located in the section’s top left-hand corner).

  2. Select which user(s) or user group can see the section’s content.

Drafts and previews

Use the previews and drafts buttons to fully prepare your layouts before you publish them for the users.

You can always go back to a previously published version of the page.
