Category menu
Only full sites have this menu: it is not included in single space sites. Read more.
The category menu is the main navigation of a global site and full site, located at the top of all the site’s pages. The menu follows the content structure created with categories.
To edit the category menu’s settings:
Go to the Refined Administration.
Go to the Navigation tab.
Users can navigate the category menu with their mouse, as well as with their keyboard.
Category menu settings
Setting | Description |

Disable site home link | Select to remove the link to the site home from the menu. |
Name | Display name of the link to the site home. |
Dropdown | Select to show |
Layout | Choose one of three different ways to display dropdown lists in the menu: dynamic, multi, or single column. |
Content size | Size of the items in dropdown lists in the menu: small, medium or large. |
Collapsed subcategories | Select to load items in the dropdown menu in a collapsed state. Users can toggle between collapsed and expanded to show or hide the content. |
Min column width | The minimum width for columns in dropdown lists. |
Exclude archived spaces | Select to not show archived spaces in dropdown lists. |
Click and hover | Select to let the dropdown items automatically open on hover once a drop down menu has been clicked. Note: Loading a category drop down is a big operation for the server if frontend caching is not activated. Hence we always recommend using this settings together with frontend caching. |
